Recently, our fighters have been using Fighter Fix Liniment and its been amazing for recovery.  It’s the only martial arts liniment that doesn’t burn or smell bad and that’s a huge plus for us.  A bottle lasts a full year, which means that it won’t empty your wallet, and as fighters we all know that’s important.
This product is easy to use and dummy proof. Â Basically, you rub it where it hurts to feel relief and heal faster. Â It can’t get more simple than that.
“I’ve used this product for several months now and I am able to recover fast and train more!” – Butch Hiles.
Again, as a gym, we highly recommend that everyone tries this product!

The UFC’s Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy recently had a mini documentary filmed and Butch Hiles Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & MMA, LLC is featured in the film (check out part 2).
“I get paid to beat people up,” says Dan Hardy. “I love every minute of it.” It’s a good thing, then, that Hardy is an MMA fighter, and was cool with hanging out with us.
Still, he’s not a typical fighter. He gets along with them, sure, and relates to them, but he also takes competition as an insult: Anyone who signs up to fight Hardy must “think he’s better than me.” And unlike most fighters—shit, unlike most athletes—he’s a pretty cool guy—engaging and a real human being. A real freak, sure, who hurts other people real, real bad, but a normal dude.
Hardy lives somewhere between isolation and aimlessness. When he’s training for a fight he practically lives at the gym, and even when he doesn’t have a fight on the horizon, he’s still training as much as possible. He tells filmmaker and Blood for Blood bassist Ian McFarland what he thinks constant competition is doing to him. He’s an angry dude who wants to slow down and “chill out” eventually, but right now he gets off on the violence, on the discipline, on the superiority of beating another man down. Only fighters, he says, know what it’s like to prepare for a fight, and then withstand one. Everyone else has expectations, but no one else understands.
But is there anything for Hardy outside the world of fighting? He can’t relate to politicians or regular people… even other fighters. Actually, the only place outside the gym Hardy seems to feel comfortable is in the hardcore scene, where people have tattoos like his and generally don’t give a shit who he is. He walks out to Cock Sparrer’s “England Belongs to Me” at fights, which is appropriate since he’s from Nottingham. His MMA nickname, The Outlaw, brings to mind Outlaw Anthems, Blood for Blood’s 2002 LP. The fact that the hardcore scene—where fuckups and angry little kids hang out—is the only place a person like Hardy feels normal seems appropriate.
The film was created as part of the McFarland & Pecci brand series of mini-docs focused on iconic subculture heroes. Go to www.mcfarlandandpecci.com to see the other films.

This weekend I have the honor of bringing in Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy from the UFC. Obviously, there are tons of guys available and tons of guys that we could bring in for a seminar, appearance, or meet and greet. So, I would like to explain to those who asked how I pick who we bring in.

I want to bring in the best of the best and I think we do that. We bring in guys with name value and big personalities. However, the most important thing to me is bringing in a guy that we can all hang out with, relate with, and get an amazing experience with. The last thing I want to do is bring in a guy who is just collecting a paycheck. Meaning, I don’t want a guy who comes and teaches a seminar, or whatever else we brought him in for, then he hurries up and takes off.Â
It’s important to me that everyone gets value for their hard earned dollar. So, in my opinion, if you are going to pay money you need to get the most value out of that dollar and the best experience that you can. Each time we bring in a guest fighter or celebrity, I like to tie in multiple events and experiences so that you have something greater to remember.
For example, when Jens Pulver came in we did a movie premier, UFC viewing party, and seminar. There were plenty of opportunities to get to know Jens as a person and not just as a fighter.  We were with him for an entire day, and people left that experience feeling like they made a new friend and they definitely got way more then they ever expected.

Wanderlei Silva had some of the biggest name recognition that there was and people would have paid just to see him. However, the goal was to introduce everyone to the man that no one knew. “The Ax Murderer” was super fun to train with, hang out with, and party with. Once again, we had an amazing training experience, which was followed by a UFC viewing party, and a great night out at the club. To this day, it was the highlight of many peoples lives and they view him in an entirely different way.

So, when I am looking for a guy to bring in, I actually ask their manager questions about thing that have nothing to do with fighting. I want to know if they are a good person, if they like to hang out, do they treat their fans good, and on and on. Any event I do will leave any person who attends with an amazing experience. You will never get a guy who just showed up to collect a paycheck.
If you are looking for an amazing experience with someone you admire or someone you have seen fight at a high level, you can almost guarantee that we will be bringing you just that. This Saturday, don’t miss the fun when Dan Hardy does a MMA seminar, VIP UFC viewing party, and VIP club night: http://www.advancedbkj.com/ufcs-dan-the-outlaw-hardy-mma-seminar-vip-viewing-party
